The region is comprised of Fayetteville, a city in Washington County that is home to the University of Arkansas; Springdale, a city located in both Washington and Benton Counties, which is known as the “Chicken Capital of the World” and the location of Tyson Foods headquarters; Centeron, a city in Benton County named the “Apple Capital of the World”; Rogers, another city in Benton County, which housed the first location of Wal-Mart; Bentonville, the county seat of Benton County and home to the headquarters of Wal-Mart, the largest retailer in the world; and finally, Johnson, a town in Washington County, located on the Springfield Plateau deep in the Ozark Mountains.
